Industry adds voice to "Save the Pub" campaign

Industry adds voice to ‘save the pub’ campaign
.
Supporters from all over the brewing industry have joined together to support the Axe the Beer Tax ‘save the pub’ campaign. Support came in from breweries up and down the country from Wales to Norfolk to the Isle of Arran.
.
Industries that rely on brewing for work, such as the National Hop Association, Christie and Co and the British Institute of Innkeeping, also came out to show their support for the campaign. The Welwyn and Hatfield Times, who have recently run their own local campaign to save the Pub, have also lent the campaign their support.
.
The increasing support from brewaries and industries directly relating beer has helped push the ‘Save the Pub’ campaign to the top of the political agenda, with 47 MPs supporting the campaign through an Early Day Motion in Parliament.

"Despite all the representations our industry has made to the Government via our many channels, the Chancellor continues to throw unreasonable, unsustainable curve balls at us. BII is delighted to give its support to the Axe the Tax campaign as we firmly believe that the pub is and should remain at the heart of every community. This is exactly what the industry needs – a strong, united voice."
