"Save the Pub" Campaign hits 30,000
Supporters
A Facebook Group supporting the "Axe the Beer Tax - Save the
Pub" campaign has received the support of over 30,000 members. The
Group was set up following the launch of the Save the Pub Campaign
in November and contains supporters from across the UK including
drinkers, "Save the Pub" campaigners, CAMRA members and employees
in the Beer industry.
As well as this official group, several unofficial Axe the Beer
Tax campaing groups have been set up in support of the Save the Pub
campaign.
As the plight of the British pubs continues to climb the
political agenda, the support for the Axe the Beer Tax campaign
continues, with nearly 300 people joning the Facebook group on a
daily basis.
Since the beginning of the campaign, over 15,000 emails have
been sent via the Axe the Beer tax website that the Facebook page
supports. This in turn has lead to over 180 MPs signing an EDM in
support of the campaign.
